LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Marty Knollenberg, R-Troy, issued the following statement Wednesday after the Senate passed an eight-bill package to address the state’s crumbling infrastructure:
“The Michigan Senate has taken the first step to investing an additional $20 billion to fix Michigan’s roads.
“It’s not a perfect plan. It’s not the plan I would have written. It’s a compromise. But where I come from, compromise is not a dirty word. It’s something to strive for, to make Michigan government work for all of our residents.
“I look forward to working with my colleagues in both chambers to continue to improve this package and to deliver a final proposal to the governor for his signature.”
